Tour de Vegas

This Memorial Day weekend, I decided to drive to Vegas and go for a ride along the Strip. In my lifetime, I doubt that Vegas will be shut down again like it is right now, so I wanted to take the opportunity to go down there and document my ride.

There were very few people on the strip, but as you know, it is usually packed with tourists walking around etc…

At the end of my ride, I needed to eat and I found an establishment that was OPEN!

As a bonus, I visited Alegiant Stadium, the new home of the Las Vegas Raiders.

I am so happy I was able to make this happen. The drive from our house took just under 3 hours! That is unheard of. Overall I loved the whole experience. It did get a bit too hot to ride toward the end of my ride, the temperature reached 93 degrees. I hope we do not have another pandemic in my lifetime but I am glad I was able to visit Las Vegas for this experience. It was well worth the trip.

Places and things I find in them.

Coronavirus photos 2020 at Victoria Gardens

On March 20, 2020 I grabbed my camera and headed to Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga. This was a Friday afternoon at around 5 p.m.. Normally, this place would be popping off as it is known for its dining, shopping and entertainment venues. Due to the Covid-19 stay at home order, this place was a Ghost Town. Here are some shots I took before a security guard asked me to leave.

Lynn Swann’s Legacy At Work

scott wolf's avatarInsideUSC with Scott Wolf

Lynn Swann was fired nearly a month ago but his decisions are in full view.

Two years ago, Swann fired women’s volleyball coach Mick Haley after he reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.

Well, here we are two years later and the women’s volleyball team is 7-5 and not even ranked in the top 25. It lost to UCLA last week.

When Jovan Vavic was arrested and then fired as water polo coach last March, Swann waited until two weeks before the season to simply announce he promoted assistant coach Marko Pintaric to head coach on Aug. 29.

The Trojans were ranked No. 1 to start the season but lost to UC Santa Barbara and Pacific and are ranked No. 5.

Now I don’t suggest for a second Swann decided who to hire. That would interfere with golf.

But he listened to his underlings and did not push…

Foodie Stuff

El Ranchero in Fontana

My lunch at El Ranchero today.

Enchilada, Chile Relleno, and a Taco
As you can see…I hardly touched my meal.
